What could be nicer than a leisurely ride to the seaside through the Norfolk countryside with a couple of coffee/lunch stops along the way, with friends! Stop over with fish & chips for tea, a couple of local ales in a nearby pub and then return back the following day. That was the plan. Four of us, road bikes, 100 miles each way. Tough enough to be a challenge but nothing beyond our ability that's for sure. 1095

Update on my Hutchinson Fusion 5 All Season Tyres
It's always nice to receive comments on my blog posts. For one, it lets me know that people are actually out there reading what I write. But it also allows us to open up a bit of two way communication. So when a Jez wrote "I’m about to venture into the tubeless world and am undecided whether to go for these or the Schwalbe pro one tubeless ,id be interested to hear how the Hutch is wearing?", in response to my Hutchinson Fusion 5 tyre review, I just had to write a whole post in reply! But tyre wear might seem a little boring so I'll bundle my latest ride into this one too. 3
Norfolk 250 – The big one is in the bag!
With 160 miles as my previous biggest ride, 250 was quite a significant jump up. But I was confident that I could do it, even if it meant waking at 2:05 in the morning! So off went the alarm and up I jumped surprisingly awake and definitely ready for the day ahead. I don't know quite how I managed to be so sprightly at that time in the morning but it was a really good start. 824
Taking on my biggest ride yet
"One day, 250 miles" it said; the Facebook post that is. Nope, that's a step too far for me, I thought. However the more I considered the possibility the more I came to the conclusion that 'It might just work'! So here I am, committed to completing a 250 mile ride within the confines of a single day. The date; Friday 8th July in just under two weeks time. 813
Hunstanton Fish & Chip Ride 2016
One Year On – Reliability Trial 2016
Last year was a successful cycling year for me. Probably with my performance pinnacle being the Tour of Cambridgeshire. After the summer I seemed to gradually decline into winter. Is that normal? Presumably a downturn into winter should be expected, the question is how much? This is a difficult question to answer when you don't have years of comparative data to look back through. 580
Quite a year on the road – My 2015
As with all years I like to start off with some aims; some challenges. Something to achieve and something to also look forward to. Back in January I considered myself a bit of a beginner on the road; I hadn't yet ridden 100 km in a single ride. So to sit here now thinking back over 2015 is pretty pleasing. 500
Full 55 mile Commute to Work
As I came over the brow of a shallow rise I saw them; little red blinking lights, off to the right, stationary and no I wasn't seeing things. Even after 70 km in the rain following a day's work I wasn't quite that tired! As I drew closer and I could see the jerseys in the dusk I recognised the riders, they were the group I would have gone riding with on this particular rainy evening had I not chosen to ride the 90 km from work instead. They had stopped to fix a puncture which although a pain for them was a relief for me; after 70 lonely kilometers I was relishing the opportunity to ride in a group

Longest Ride Yet; 150 mile loop for Fish & Chips
Take away Fish & Chips is a big tradition here in the UK and everybody has their preferred Fish & Chip Shop, but even so cycling a 150 mile round trip would generally be considered a little over the top! But that's exactly what we did on Sunday with a journey that took us from Peterborough to Hunstanton and back. 302
